Stuff the Bus!
In cooperation with the United Way of Florence County's Stuff the Bus campaign, Lighthouse Ministries collected three boxes filled with school supplies! Thank you to the staff, volunteers and donors.
Ministry needs
In addition to monetary donations, Lighthouse Ministries is in need of non perishable food items, especially easily opened items such as pop tops for homeless persons, and we need YOU to volunteer your time and talents. Even if you have just a few hours to give, we can use your help.
Tour dates
Our monthly Shining Light Tours are held on the third Thursday of each month. Come tour our facility, learn about our programs, and enjoy a delicious lunch provided by the Methodist Manor of the Pee Dee. Upcoming dates are: September 15 and October 20. There will be no tours in November and December due to the holidays. Come see us! This is not a solicitation for contributions.
John Calvin youth visit
We had the opportunity to meet the youth from John Calvin Presbyterian Church when they visited our office and brought food and books. This great group, under the direction of Melanie Neal donates food each month. Ms. Neal comes up with an interesting food category to bring specific food items every month and the youth always step up to the challenge. They also brought books to resupply our children's book room for which we are also grateful. Thank you to Ms. Neal and these terrific kids and their parents.
Stand Down for Homeless Veterans
Lighthouse Ministries participated in the Stand Down for Homeless Veterans held at the America Legion in June. We provided bags of food geared to homeless persons and 218 complete hygiene kits filled with personal items donated by the community.
