Senior Food Giveaway

| A happy day for volunteers and recipients. |
If you drove past Lighthouse Ministries office early on Friday, September 25, you would have seen a long line of people extending around the adjacent building. First in line at 4am for the 9:00 am Senior Citizens Food Giveaway was Mr. T, a disabled Vietnam veteran, who said he did not mind waiting because “It was worth it”. Another senior, Ms. M, said “I’m 73 and took care of patients for many years and now I need all the help I can get”.
BB&T and Prime Rate Premium Finance Corporation donated non-perishable food and their employees volunteered to prepare approximately 250 bags for Florence County seniors. KJ’s IGA Market processed the large food order and donated bags. Geraldine F. summed up the feelings of most of the seniors. “We thank God for the food and for those who donated. It is a big help.”
